Aadhaar card structure should be strengthened

The scheme of Aadhaar card was implemented as a powerful identity card for the second time after Voter ID card in the country. A separate department was created named UIDAI, whose caretaker was entrusted to Nandan Nilokari, the founder of the country's prestigious IT company Infosys, and at that time it was hoped that this card would be a unique (only) identity card for all citizens of the country. All citizens will have it and will be used in all departments etc. for their identification. For whatever work citizens will need to show their identity. That card will be considered paramount in that work and department. Not only this, when this scheme was implemented on September 29, 2010, a huge budget of Rs 11 thousand 366 crore was kept for this work, which has increased even more nowadays.

Even after almost 14 years of implementation of this scheme, 100% people do not have Aadhaar card. In the country that administered about 200 crore vaccines in 2 years, in 14 years, 100 percent of the population does not have a unique ID card and a large number of workers also have duplicate ID cards. If we agree, in the last 5 years, about 3 lakh 55 thousand 884 crore fake Aadhaar cards have been caught by different agencies and if we talk about the truth, a network of people making fake Aadhaar cards is spreading across the country. However, police, local administration and different agencies also arrest them every day. But still so many fake Aadhaar cards are spread in the country today. It is impossible to guess them.

 Actually, Aadhaar card remained in controversies from the beginning. Governments from time to time made it necessary for the beneficiary to have Aadhaar card for various government formalities and government schemes. But from time to time, through several petitions in the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the linking of Aadhaar with formalities like bank account was said to disturb the privacy of the citizen. The petitioners claimed that the linking of Aadhaar with all the schemes would link the citizen's data with each other, which would amount to interference in his privacy and is against Article 21 "Right to Privacy" of the Constitution.

Many petitions have been filed in the Hon'ble Supreme Court regarding the use of Aadhaar from time to time and the use of Aadhaar has been prescribed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court at different times as the use has not been mandated in all government and non-government departments. For this reason, government and non-government departments themselves determined its utility. The result was that today there are many tasks, schemes and government formalities. In which Aadhaar card is not necessary.

On the other hand, the Aadhaar card shown by a person is genuine or fake. There is no built in simple way to check this quickly. However, to know the validity of the Aadhaar card, the department has created an APP called “M-AADHAR”, in which you can know the validity of the concerned Aadhaar by entering the Aadhaar number. But due to lack of information and app's software not being user friendly, it is not 100% possible to catch fake Aadhaar. This one solution will not be enough to catch fake Aadhaar, along with this, this type of machine should be installed at all important places like bank, court, police station and post office. By scanning which all the details of the card holder will come. Even to which income group does he belong, which age group does he belong to, this information can be obtained from only one Aadhaar card.

In fact, Aadhaar should be made such a powerful instrument that after that there is no need for other cards, be it voter card or PAN card and any other card like family identity card. In many countries of the world, this type of identity card is mandatory, which is unique and no other identity card is needed in their presence and the complete information of the person is in that identity card.

The whole purpose of making Aadhaar will be successful only when the Aadhaar card becomes the proof of complete existence. After Aadhaar card, no other identity card will be required. I believe that there should be a patriotism movement for the continuity of Aadhaar and in making Aadhaar, as well as complete research will have to be done on making fake Aadhaar cards in Aadhaar, this will curb all kinds of crimes.
